What To Expect From Your Brazilian Wax

We’ve all heard about it, but a lot of us are a bit too weary to actually go through with it. A Brazilian wax is a procedure that goes beyond the simple bikini wax. Rather than only removing the hair that is around the front of our public region, the Brazilian wax will take off that front hair, the hair around back, and any bit of hair remaining in between. You will be left with a fine, smooth finish that can last any where from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on how quickly your hair grows.
It’s understandable why women would be apprehensive about going in for a Brazilian wax. Not all too many of us ladies are fond of putting their private areas out on display for a complete stranger to see. But while you may be self conscious about your appearance, remember that those who provide Brazilian waxes are professionals and that they have “seen it all”.
Another concern that women have about waxing in general is the pain. True, it will hurt more than if you were just to simply shave the area, but the more times you go, the more you will adjust to the pain. Taking a couple of pain killing pills half an hour prior to your appointment will also go a long way in helping you control the pain. Once you have your first Brazilian done, you will see just why the pain was worth it. Pain is beauty, after all.

What to Expect
Brazilian waxes are usually done in a private room with a door so that there is no chance of anyone else other than the waxer of seeing you. The waxer will leave you alone so that you can remove your pants and undergarments in private, and then you will be asked to lie on a clean table. You can also request to have a paper thong to make yourself feel more comfortable.
Your hair only needs to be ¼ inch in length, so if your hair is a bit too long, the waxer may trim it so that it is the correct length. Next, a talcum powder will be applied to your skin so that the hot wax will not stick to it.

The wax is applied with a wooden spoon that is dipped into a pot of hot wax. The wax is the spread over your hair and skin. A cloth strip will then be pressed firmly down onto your hair, and then once the wax is cooled, the strip is pulled off in the direction opposite if your hair growth. The waxer will begin with the front and work their way to the back of your body (this may include the buttocks, if you request it).

When the waxing is complete, any stray hairs are then removed with tweezers. If you have chosen to keep a small strip of hair in the front (this is often referred to as the “landing strip”) she will trim this too and can even dye it upon request. A soothing lotion is applied over your waxed area. At home, you can use an aloe lotion to help keep red bumps and ingrown hairs at bay.

Tanning Lotions – Can They Produce a Good Tan?

Tanning Lotions – Can They Produce a Good Tan? Tanning lotions are a very popular type of product among the sunless tanning crowd – or, in other words, people who prefer to get their tans without exposing themselves to sunlight. If you’re new to this concept, it should be enough for you to know that the Sun’s UV rays are linked with various harmful conditions, including skin cancer.
Interestingly, the first sunless tanning product was actually a lotion – in 1960, Coppertone released Quick Tanning, the first lotion for artificial tanning. The product was successful, although compared to today’s products it was very ineffective – the color it produced wasn’t really natural, and fell more into the orange shades than the body’s natural color. Still, it was all people had for a while, and they used it.
Afterwards, cosmetic science caught on pretty quickly and the concept has evolved dramatically. Today, the market is full of lotion-based products for you to choose from, and if tanning is what you’re after, there’s definitely something for you out there.

DHA tanning lotions should be your starting point. Currently the most popular type of tanning lotions, DHA-based products work without actually applying any pigments to your skin. Instead, they act on the layer of dead skin cells on a chemical level, causing them to darken. This process is completely harmless to you, but it has one downside – because the tanning is done in the horny skin layer, it’s lost very quickly, as your body removes those cells on a daily basis. How fast it will happen exactly depends on you, but don’t expect to retain the tan for more than 7-10 days.
If you still want to get your tan in a semi-natural way, but don’t want to rely on UV rays entirely, there is a “middle ground” – tanning accelerators. Those are also available in lotion variants, and they increase your body’s melanin production (through an amino acid called tyrosine), thus enhancing the effects of any natural tanning you might be undergoing at the moment.

Take note though, tanning accelerators are only useful in combination with UV rays – using them on their own will likely have no effects on your tan, so it would be pointless. If you’re thinking of using such a product, you should spend some time to carefully plan your tanning, otherwise you might waste money for nothing.
More short-term solutions are available as well, in the form of bronzers – they normally give you a tan for a day or two. It doesn’t look quite as natural as DHA-based tanning, and it goes away as soon as you take a shower, but it can be great for single occasions.

If you’re going to tan yourself with a bronzer tanning lotion, make absolutely sure you know what you’re doing – or better, get a friend who’s already done it to help you. The reason for this is that bronzers can give you an orange hue which can be unattractive, so they should be applied carefully.

Finding The Flattering Skirt For You

sexy Skirt For You
There are a whole lot of different skirt lengths out there, which can make the whole process of finding one rather trying. Not only that, but skirts are made out of different materials, have different cuts, and different embellishments that makes buying process even more confusing. How do you know which ones will look good on you?
Finding the Right Length
The first thing that you should focus on when you go skirt shopping is the length of the skirt. A good general rule to keep in mind is that if you are over the age of 35 (or younger, in some cases), a mini skirt is no longer a fashionable option for you. The shorter the skirt does not mean the sexier the skirt; you can find a sexy skirt at a more suitable length, such as a well cut knee length skirt that hugs your hips and comes to a nice taper right above your knees.
TIP: The more basic the skirt, the better, especially the older you are. Stay away from any sort of low waist skirts, ruffles and pleats. These will only make you seem immature and will ruin any classic or modern look you were going for.
Skirt Cuts and Fabrics
The most flattering cut of skirt for any body type is the good old a-line skirt.

sexy Skirt For You

The a-line works for almost anyone as it will help define the waist area, hide any trace of a tummy, conceal the hips and thighs you may want to hide, and it will balance almost any body shape.
Try to stay away from any sort of sarong style skirts as they can make your tummy look more pooch-like than it is, and definitely keep your hands off any mini or micro-mini skirts if they are no longer age appropriate or flattering to your body type.
Choose the Right Size
There are some skirts out there that are made to cling and hug to every part of your body, but these skirts will probably not be the most flattering to you. You want to wear a skirt that will not bunch as you sit, stand and move throughout your day. You also don’t want a skirt that will become tight and confining. Find the right size skirt that will nicely hug you around the hip area but will allow you the freedom of movement.
Can I Wear a Denim Skirt?
Who doesn’t love a great pair of jeans? While some may argue that denim skirts are no longer fashionable, we tend to disagree! A dark wash of denim can easily become sophisticated and sexy if paired up with a pair of heels and a button down jacket. Throw on a scarf, and you definitely have the business casual look going on.

sexy Skirt For You

You can wear denim skirts out to diner, on a date, or you can choose a lighter wash of denim and pair it with a trendy t-shirt or a sweater and boots for a more laid back look.

5 Top Shaving Tips

5 Top Shaving Tips
There may be waxing, there may be sugaring, and there may be a number of different depilatory creams out there for women to use to remove hair, but no method is as popular as shaving. Shaving is by far the least expensive form of hair removal, and it can be finished in mere minutes.
The follies of shaving are the nicks that we experience, the skin irritation, and the dryness our skin may suffer. Here are some tips that can make your shaving experience a good one (and possibly keep your skin hair-free for longer!):
Tip #1: Wet your Skin
There’s nothing worse than trying to shave your legs (or any other area of the body) than trying to do so with dry skin. You want to make sure that your skin is wet. Having your skin moistened allows your hair to become softer, and it helps loosen up the dead skin cells that would otherwise clog up your razor.
TIP: Dead skin cells will not only clog up you razor, but it also increases your risk of suffering from nicks and cuts.
Tip #2: More Razor Blades doesn’t mean it’s Better
These days it seems that there is a new razor blade every year coming out, offering more blades and other small little “benefits” that they will try to make seem useful to you. We all got along just fine without having a vibrating razor, so that’s a feature you can skip. We also don’t really need any more than 1 or 2 razors on a blade. That’s right, you can skip the expensive 4 to 5 razor razorblades that are on store shelves and opt for the more basic models.
One feature that will make shaving easier and more pleasurable is to choose a razor that has a moisture or aloe strip. This strip not only hydrates the skin, but it makes shaving more smooth and will help prevent you from nicking your skin.
Tip #3: Shaving cream is Shaving cream
The “beauty” industry is a scheming market, coming up with products for things that we don’t really need. If you have walked the aisles of a drugstore, you may notice that oftentimes women’s shaving cream costs more than men’s. How do they justify it? Well, women’s shaving cream contains different formulas and moisturizers and it’s better for sensitive areas and…
This is all a joke. Even the most basic shaving cream that was on the shelves 20 years ago is more than suitable to help both men AND women prevent nicks and cuts. Men’s shaving cream is often less expensive and offers the same benefits. Choose one that is scent-free or has hardly any odor and you’re good as gold.
Tip #4: Shaving in All Directions
Though the hair on your legs will usually grow in only one direction, other areas of the body may have hair that grows in all different directions. One particular area that is shaven is the armpit, which has hair sprouting out at all different angles. Make sure you do a sort of “t” shape when you shave your armpits to ensure that you have cut all of the hair.
Tip #5: Always Hydrate your Skin
If you want those super smooth legs after a shave, always make sure that you apply a moisturizing product, such as a hydrating lotion or baby oil to your legs.

Tips On How To Give Yourself a Natural Face Lift

Tips On How To Give Yourself a Natural Face Lift We may gain more wisdom as we age, but we certainly don’t like it when that “wisdom” and age shows on our face. The fine lines, the sagging skin, the wrinkles that appear at the outer corners of our eyes… these are all typical signs of aging that we all must contend with as our body grows older and older, year after year.
You hate the signs of aging, but you can’t justify going under the knife just to gain 10 years. Such procedures are dangerous and incredibly expensive, which is why it’s good that there are natural ways in which you can give your face that natural “face lift” that you have always wanted. The best way to achieve this is to start with putting your face through a “fitness” routine. Just as you exercise the other muscles on your body, you too must exercise the facial muscles to help keep the skin taut and elastic.
Failing to exercise our facial muscles only leads to them drooping and the skin thinning as the years carry on. The other benefit to doing facial exercises is that you are increasing the circulation of the blood in your face, meaning that more oxygen and more nutrients are being delivered to the tissues and cells in the facial skin and muscles.
You can start a facial fitness regime any where and at any time, though most women will opt to do it in the privacy of their own home as they may look a tad silly doing these exercises in public. Let’s start from the top of the face down:
The Forehead: Take your fingers and place them just above your eyebrow. With your fingers, pull the skin down. Now try to raise your eyebrows against the pressure that you are applying with your fingers. Repeat this ten times. This will help smooth out any wrinkles that may be on your forehead.
The Eyelids: Take your thumbs and place them at the corners of your two eyes. Now shut your eyes tightly, and then pull the skin upwards towards the forehead. Repeat this process ten times, and you should be finding that your crows’ feet are far less noticeable.
To try and manage sagging eyelids, take your index fingers and hold them close to the brow bone. Now raise your eyebrows. While you’re raising your eyebrows, try to close your eyes. Repeat this step ten times.
The Cheeks: The best way to give your cheeks a good work out is to start by forming an “o” shape with your lips. Now try to push them forward as quickly as you possibly can. Release the “o” shape, and then smile as large as you possibly can. Follow this routine ten times and rest.
The Lips: To exercise the lips, push your lips outwards in a large and pronounced pout. Alternatively, you can try to suck on your finger as hard as you can. This will help keep those dreaded lip wrinkles at bay. Repeat this step ten times.

How To Boost Your Bust (Without Implants)

How To Boost Your Bust In a world that seems to be fascinated with breasts and bust size, it can be rather lonely for us with a smaller chest to feel as if we really fit in. Sure, we can always go the implant route, but do you really want to?
A lot of women with a smaller bust like how they look naked. It’s as soon as they throw some clothes on over top of their chest that it suddenly seems to, well, fall flat. Rather than resort to expensive and potentially dangerous surgery, you can use some simple tricks to give the illusion of you having a larger chest.
Stand up Straight
Let’s start with an easy one right here. If you have any sort of stoop or slouch when you stand, stop that immediately. Start focusing on straightening up your back and improving your posture. This can immediately add an entire “cup” size to your appearance – no joke!
Wear a Properly Fitted Bra – And then Pad It
Get yourself properly measured before you do any further bra shopping. The number that you are told doesn’t really matter; whether you are an A cup, a B cup, or even a DD cup isn’t an issue as long as you can make your breasts look great in whatever you are wearing. Now if you really want to add some extra “oomph” to your bosom, it’s time to hunt around for a padded or push up bra.
There are a lot of different kinds out there. One of the newest is a padded push up bra that will add two cup sizes to your current bust. If you really want to go all out, this is definitely the bra to get. It is padded on the side and the bottom and it looks 100% natural with a shirt on or off.
If you don’t really want to go an entire 2 cups larger, than a basic padded or push up bra will do. Look for a push up or padded bra that allows you to add more inserts in the side as well for those days where you may want to add a bit more of a lift to your bust, or if you tend to have swollen and larger breasts during certain times of the month, you can the remove the inserts for comfort reasons.

What about Bathing Suits?
Bathing suits are now made with the smaller girl in mind. A lot of bathing suits not only offer you the option to insert more “cookies” to add a bit more size, but there are a lot of “aqua” bathing suits as well that have larger water-based inserts that will boost you up a size or two.
Many lingerie shops have also opened up their own line of bathing suits, many of which offer push up bathing suit options for those who want to add a bit of size and shape to their breasts. But when all else fails, invest in a pair of $10 silicone inserts and you can boost your bust any time!

How To Get a Toned Tush

How To Get a Toned Tush It’s never too early to start exercising and making your body look fantastic for bathing suit season! If you are looking to tone up that behind of yours but you aren’t sure how to do it, these tips will guarantee a firmer bottom within 2 weeks to a month (and the longer you do it, the more toned you will be!).

The Secret to Toning Up
The secret to toning up is not cutting out carbs or exercising like mad. It’s doing exercise and looking after your nutrition and improving them both together at the same time so that they support and build up one another. It’s really no big secret, but remind yourself every day that you do need to have an adequate caloric intake in order to tone up, no matter how tempted you may be to cut out as many calories as you possibly can. Remember to try and keep your caloric intake to 1500 calories or more if you are working out on that particular day.

The Diet
No crash dieting here. The key to toning up your butt is to cut out those high fat, high sugar and processed foods. A lot of foods that we “think” are healthy are actually not very good for our health. For instance, those whole grain crackers you bought probably are high in fat and loaded in MSG. Not exactly the kind of food you want to eat when you want to lose weight.
Focus on eating natural and whole foods. This means limiting the processed foods, the pre-made meals that may be sitting in your freezer, and anything that you did not find on the outer aisles of the grocery store. When you eat, try to eat whole grains, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, and lean meats (such as fish and chicken). Drink a lot of water to stay hydrated and stay feeling full, and avoid all salty snacks, sweet treats, and drinks other than water that have hidden calories.

The Exercise
Exercising 3 to 4 times a week is ideal as it will give your body the appropriate amount of work and rest needed to repair itself and continually build up muscle. Always start off by warming up your body by stretching and jogging or walking for 5 minutes. Once you have warmed up, it’s time to start the squats. Keep your back straight and your legs shoulder length apart. Now bend your knees while taking are to keep your back straight. Hold the position for a few seconds, and then raise yourself again in at a controlled pace. Do this ten times at first, gradually working your way up to thirty squats.
Next, try to do 15 lunges on your left leg, and 15 lunges for your right leg. You will have to pace yourself for this one at first as lunges take a whole lot of muscle and energy!
It’s also great to add some cardio into your exercise routine to shape up your bottom. Running, biking, playing a sport – anything that elevates your heart rate is good for toning up your butt and losing weight.

What are Body Wraps?

What are Body Wraps? Ever wish that you could just quickly drop a couple inches all at once so you can look fabulous on an important occasion? Or perhaps you want to drop the weight without having to go on an extensive diet plan. Even if all you are looking for is a treatment that will leave your skin clean, purified and detoxified, then body wraps are for you.
Though the “body slimming” type of body wraps are becoming increasingly popular, the classic body wrap is still the most commonly used. You can have your skin slathered down in a number of different materials, such as clay, lotion, mud, cream, seaweed or algae (these each have different benefits for your skin, so the type of material you are slathered in will depend on your own individual needs) and your skin will improve exponentially from there depending on the type of material you chose your wrap to be.
Why Bother with Body Wraps?
Body wraps are not just some treatment that will be used to help you calm down emotionally, but it is more importantly a way to help clean out your body and draw out the toxins under the skin. If you are looking for detoxifying body wraps, ask for body wraps that are made of algae, clay, mud or seaweed. These materials will stimulate your metabolism, which will kick the cleansing process into high gear.
If you are looking to infuse your skin with hydration, then choose either a shea butter body wrap or any other body wraps that include rich lotions and creams.
How does the Body Wrap Process Work?
Before you even have a body wrap, you will often find yourself being exfoliated by a dry brushing process, or through use of a salt scrub. You will be asked to lie down during this process.
Once the different type of body wrap product is placed onto you skin, you will be wrapped up and usually left to lay in complete relaxation for 20 minutes. The key here is to keep nice and warm so that your skin may absorb the nutrients in the mask and either:
  • Slim you down, or
  • Detoxify your body
TIP: If you choose a massage along with your body wraps, then you are in for a real treat! A massage therapist who applies body wraps will be sure to give you a thorough rub down before they wrap you up tight with a towel. During the 20 minute wait time, expect to also get the best scalp massage of your life!
When the 20 minutes are over, they will then unwrap your body and gently wash you down in a warm shower. You may also be rinsed off on a wet table or a Vichy shower.
TIP: If given the option, definitely go for the hand held showering or the special Vichy shower. You will feel absolutely pampered!
When the process is over and done with, you will be dried off and usually then have a lotion or cream massaged into your skin so that you are left hydrated and silky smooth.

The Dangers Behind Breast Augmentation

The Dangers Behind Breast Augmentation Breast augmentation surgeries have blown up in popularity since the 1990s, with a whole lot of women now walking about on this planet with the breasts that they were not born with. Though breast augmentation surgery has become ever so popular, this doesn’t mean that every woman who is considering having this surgery done should assume that it is safe and relatively harmless. It’s important to recognize that this is still an invasive surgery and that complications can – and do – arise, perhaps more often than you know.

High Risk of Leakage
Think having a leaky implant won’t happen to you? Think again. Over 1/3 of all women will experience a leaking transplant in their first three years of having surgery. Not only will this cause for one breast to look like a deflated balloon, but it can also be very hazardous to your health. There is no insurance for this, so the repairs and pending health consequences are all on you and our pocketbook.
High Risk of Scar Tissue
There is a very high chance that you will develop some scar tissue around the breast, which is also referred to as capsular contracture. In this particular case, the scar tissue will form and tighten around the implant, which then squeezes the implant. This can cause infection and pain, and it requires for the scar tissue to be removed, and oftentimes the breast implant also has to be removed.

High Risk of Hematoma and Seroma
Hematoma and seroma refers to the collection of the water-based portion of blood that is within the blood tissue. If you do develop a hematoma or seroma, you may develop an infection and capsular contracture as mentioned above. Though these can be treated without having invasive surgery, if the problem persists or becomes large enough then the hematomas and seromas will need to be drained out so that they may heal.
Reduced Sensation
If you have breast augmentation done, you can expect to have both reduced nipple and reduced breast sensation (though there are occurrences when the sensations are increased). This can be either temporary or permanent, but there is usually some form of permanent reduced sensation associated with breast implants.
Increased Pain
Immediately after the surgery there is a level of pain that is to be expected. If you do continue to have this pain for a prolonged period of time, however, then you may need to have your breast re-adjusted. The size of the breast implant may be incorrect, or the placement may be incorrect. If you are experiencing a significant amount of pain, you should make an appointment with your plastic surgeon for a consultation.

Breast Asymmetry
It’s not so uncommon for breasts with implants to become asymmetrical. One may hang lower than the other, or the nipples may be noticeably uneven. In such an event, you will need to undergo further surgery to fix up your breast augmentation.

Breast Tissue Atrophy and Chest Wall Deformity
The pressure of the breast implant can cause a lot of health problems for you. This can result in the breast tissue to actually become very thin and to shrink around the implant, and can occur either while the implant is in place, or even after it has been removed.

Organic Beauty Products: Are They As Good For You As They Say?

Organic Beauty Products We are all becoming more health conscious these days, which is also leading to a rise in organic beauty products. The market is absolutely booming right now, with organic products flying off of the shelves faster today than ever before. Most organic products cost a few dollars more to buy, but we figure that for the sake of our health, it definitely is worth it – right?

What are Organic Beauty Products?
“Organic beauty product” is a broad term that is used to describe any sort of beauty enhancing products that contain no or less unnatural products, such as laboratory created chemicals. True organic products should be prepared only by using what can be described as “naturally occurring ingredients”, which essentially means products that come from directly from the earth (plant and/or mineral products). No synthetic products, such as fragrances, preservatives and dyes should be used.

What’s so Bad about Synthetic Products?
Synthetic and chemical products that we find in beauty products today have been liked to a number of serious diseases and ailments, such as cancer, auto-immune disorders, hormonal disorders and fertility complications – just to name a few.
None of us want to be using a product that can easily be considered toxic, or even extremely lethal. Even if it is a skin cream that you are using on your body and are not ingesting, the ingredients that are in any skin cream sink through the layers of our skin and then enter into our bloodstream. It’s important to be conscientious of what we put in our bodies as well as what we put on our bodies.

So Organic is Good for me – Right?
Not so fast. Though the word “organic” has become incredibly hip and is recognized by most as the type of product you should choose, everything isn’t always as great as it may seem.
One point that has raised issue is that not all products that come from the earth are necessarily healthy for us to be using on our skin. Sure, it may be natural, but is it good for us? A lot of these products have not been tested by the FDA or any other sort of government health agency in other countries and deemed as “good” for our health. Organic products have very broad standards, meaning that what is put in the organic product is not closely monitored.
The amount of ingredients that are “organic” in any product also vary. That hand cream that you use may have organic royal jelly in it, but look at the rest of the ingredients and you may be surprised to find a lot of inorganic ingredients being included, such as perfumes and dyes. That organic product isn’t so organic any more!
So how do companies get away with saying that something is “organic” when it has such little organic product in it? Because there is no real standardization when it comes to organic products. Almost any company can claim that their product is “natural” or “organic” these days when it only contains SOME natural or organic product. That is why it is essential that you check out the ingredients of all organic products and read through them before you buy.

How to Prevent Premature Grey Hair

How to Prevent Premature Grey Hair Even though “going grey” seems to be in style these days, there’s no doubt that men and women alike are trying to rid themselves of this grey hair “plague”. Grey hair is preventable, or at least measures can be taken to lessen or even completely eliminate its presence in your life. First it’s important to understand just why you have grey hairs in the first place:

Hereditary: Genes are perhaps the most dominant factor when it comes to whether or not you will have grey hair. Grey hair almost always comes naturally to everyone, but at what time you start having grey hairs is all dependent on hereditary. If your father went grey prematurely and you’re a male, there’s a good chance that you’ll be going grey early too
Smoking: Smoking is thought to also be a large contributor to the grey hair epidemic. If you are a smoker who smokes ½ pack to a full pack a day, chances are you will suffer from premature grey hairs faster than one who does not smoke
Stress: Stress is also a known factor when it comes to grey hair. Try to reduce the stress in your life by meditating, exercising, eating right, and taking time to yourself every day to do what you enjoy.
How to Stop Grey Hair
There are a whole lot of gimmicky products out there that promise to help get rid of your grey hair, but chances are unless it is some sort of dye, your hair will continue to turn more and more grey. Apart from dyeing or “spray canning” your hair with color or going for colored plugs, here are some natural ways to keep your hair color intact:

The Curry Leaves with Almond Oil Mix: Boil a few curry leaves in equal parts almond oil, and then massage this mixture into your hair every other day once the mixture has cooled. This treatment will stimulate and rejuvenate your hair, two things that are necessary to restore your previous hair color
Black Tea Hair Rinse: Black tea, when mixed with a few dashes of table salt, is thought to actually prevent your hair from going grey. If you are looking to retain your current hair color, try this treatment. You should notice this rinse turning your grey hairs even lighter so that they are less noticeable.

Coconut Oil and Lemon Hair Treatment: This is perhaps the best remedy when it comes to preventing the premature graying of hair. Take 3 full tablespoons of coconut oil and then add in a few drops of lemon juice into the mixture. Massage this mix into your scalp and leave it there for at least half an hour. Once a sufficient amount of time has elapsed, wash your hair with shampoo.

Emu Oil and Vitamin E: Mixing equal parts emu oil with equal parts vitamin E will help promote your hair growth as well as prevent premature greys. Massage this mixture into your scalp, leave it on for at least 10 minutes, and then rinse with a hydrating shampoo. You should be not only noticing your hair thickening, but you should be noticing fewer grey hairs within a few short weeks.
