How To Cure Dark Armpits

We go to great lengths to look after our armpits. Not only do we continuously throw on deodorants and antiperspirants in an effort to make them smell nice, but men and women alike spend time every day removing the area from that area. So after all that care is taken, a lot of men and women are discouraged to find that their armpit area seems to chronically be darker than the rest of their body. This often leads to embarrassment, and even causes some men and women to completely avoid certain articles of clothing that would otherwise put their darkened armpits on display.
There are a number of reasons why the armpit area may be darker than the rest of your body, some of them being major health concerns. Some of these include:
  • Diabetes type II
  • Obesity
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Endocrine disorders
  • Tumors
  • Medications
Sometimes your armpits will appear darker than the rest of your body because you have fair skin and the hair growing beneath the surface is dark (try waxing as this will at least initially pull the dark hairs out from the root and the skin).
You can start getting rid of you dark armpit area today with some simple home remedies. One that you can do today is use a lemon. Cut a lemon so that you have a slice, and then rub it right over the armpit area. Lemons naturally lighten the skin, cleanse the skin, and they have antimicrobial properties which help prevent any continued darkening of your armpit area.
Alternatively, you can take aloe vera gel and rub it under your arm pits, or you can try using baking soda under your arms. The benefit to baking soda is that it not only can help lighten your armpits, but it will also help absorb any sweat and odor.
Another great way to try and treat your dark underarms yourself is to take fish oil supplements on a daily basis. You can find fish oil capsules in any grocery store or natural help food store.
It’s also important to keep the area as clean as possible and to wear clothing that is made from natural fibers. Excessive sweating or tight fitting clothing can be the cause behind your dark armpit woes, so try cleansing the armpit area twice a day and wear clothing that is made from cotton, wool, and other natural fibers.
If you are looking for a medical type of treatment for your dark underarms, there’s good news for you: you can receive over the counter treatments from your doctor. There are oral medications that you can take, such as isotretinoin, and prescription creams that contain vitamin A that can be applied to the area to help lighten up the skin.
Lastly, if none of the above seem to be helping, it is possible to opt for laser dermabrasion of the armpit area. This will greatly help reduce the darkening of your armpits.

How Do I Curl My Hair?

There are a lot of different methods to choose from when it comes to curling your hair: hot curling irons, straightening irons, classic rollers, foam rollers, bobby pins, braids – or even wrapping your hair around your finger! No matter what the method is that you choose, there are some essential things that you need to know in order to give yourself that perfect curl that will last throughout the entire day.
Use Heat
Heat is absolutely essential when it comes to having those day-long curls that you have always wanted. Heat will help break down any hydrogen bonds that may be in your hair after it has been wetted down, which means that it will be more open to having its shape changed (i.e. from straight to curly).
If you choose not to use heat, then you will need to pre-plan your curls hours in advance, and even then you may still have a harder time having the curl last throughout the entire day.
Give it Time
Be patient and give your hair some time when you are trying to set the curls. The hydrogen bonds that were mentioned above form and shape to your hair as it dries and cools. Pulling your hair out of any sort of curling device prior to it being completely dry and cooled off means that you risk having little to no curl left in your hair.
Make sure that your hair is both 100% dry and 100% cooled off before you go ahead and take your hair out of any sort of heated curling device. It’s also a good idea to use some sort of product that will help hold the curl, such as hairspray.
Prevent Moisture Damage
It’s important to use products that will protect your hair from rain or humidity. Using any sort of light gel or a pomade product and scrunching it onto your curls is the best way to both support the curl in your hair, and to keep it 100% waterproof. Less wetness means a longer lasting curl, so definitely do choose to use products that will support you curl best.
Use Pin Curls on Damaged Hair
A lot of styling these tools insist on using heat over 400*F on our hair to help mold and force it into the shape that we want. One of the best and most effective ways to curl our hair is to use a pin curl. Pin curls have been around for well over 100 years, but have become unpopular as they will take a bit of time to do.
If you do want to try using a pin curl in your hair, or if your hair is so notably damaged that using a heated device will further damage it, start off by diving your hair up into 8 sections. Dampen your hair to the point where it is wet, but not dripping wet, and then apply gel to the first section of hair. Twist the curl tightly, bringing the end right up to the top of your head, and then place two bobby pins in the curl to hold it to your hair. Hairspray it and leave the pins in until your hair is dry (this should take approximately 20 minutes).

Health And Beauty Benefits Of Aloe Vera

For centuries aloe vera has been recognized as being good for our health, but just how good for our health is often not known to most. Apart from using aloe vera on our sun burns to help soothe and heal them, most of us don’t come in contact with aloe vera apart from perhaps seeing it as an additive in some sort of moisturizing product.

The amount of health and beauty benefits that we can enjoy from aloe vera is astonishing. Aloe vera is not only hydrating, it’s regenerating, meaning that it does have anti aging properties contained within it. Many people who drink aloe vera juice on a regular basis swear that they are not nearly as ill as they used to be, and they feel more positive as a result of drinking it.

How Aloe Vera can Improve our Immune System
Aloe vera is a natural detoxifying agent. What this means is that drinking or consuming aloe vera in any form will help get rid of the free radicals in our body that are responsible for making us ill.
Aloe vera also helps cleanse out both our digestive system and our circulatory system. By drinking aloe vera, our body is better able to absorb nutrients into the blood stream and transport those nutrients to other areas of our body. This nutrient and oxygen-rich blood helps support the cells that dictate how healthy our body’s are, and it keeps our bodies looking young. Aloe vera also helps:
  • Fight off infections
  • Kill off harmful bacteria that may be in the body
  • Rejuvenate our body
How Aloe Vera will Make you Younger
As mentioned earlier, aloe vera will naturally help your body dispel any free radicals that are in our bodies. Free radicals cause a number of health issues, such as cancer, but they also cause premature aging. By getting rid of these free radicals, you are helping free yourself of toxic agents that would otherwise be significantly aging your entire body.
But you don’t only have to consume aloe vera to enjoy the anti aging benefits of it. You can apply it directly to your skin too to make yourself look more youthful and refreshed. Any sort of aloe vera cream or aloe vera lotion will quickly penetrate through several layers of skin and hydrate it, thus keeping it more youthful in appearance.

You don’t only have to use some commercially made aloe vera cream on your skin, though. The best way to use aloe vera is to use it straight from the source: directly from the aloe vera plant. Snipping off a leaf and exposing the inner gel of the leaf will provide you with the aloe vera you need to apply to your skin to keep it youthful and refreshed. Remember that if you do suffer any degree of sunburn that you should also take an aloe vera leaf and apply it to that skin to not only instantly cool it down, but to hydrate it and to expedite the healing process.

How To Fix a Bad Haircut

Though it seems tragic at the time, almost all of us have been there: we go to a salon, ask for a haircut that we think will look stunning on us, but whether it’s due to our miscalculated judgment or a poor stylist, we end up with a cut that is just absolutely atrocious.
Before you become hysterical and break down into wild sobs, you CAN fix that bad haircut and turn it into a ‘do you will be proud to wear. The first thing that you have to think about is:

Why do you Hate your Haircut?
What is it about that haircut that you have that you absolutely abhor? Is your hair just too short for your liking or are the bangs uneven? Or is it that the haircut that you thought would look wonderful on you just doesn’t suit your face shape? Make sure that prior to freaking out about your new haircut, you wash your hair and you style it as you usually would. Many hair stylists have their own idea about how your hair should “look” after a cut, so it may be that they simply used the wrong product or used the wrong styling products.

When it’s Too Short
This is perhaps the most distressing since we all know that we cannot magically wish for our hair to grow an inch or two. There are the obvious (yet more expensive) options, such as having hair extensions put in or you can try to purchase a wig to wear, but the best and most cost-friendly idea is to just wait it out.
So how can you make your hair look better? For one, straight hair always looks longer than curly or wavy hair. If you naturally have curly or wavy hair, it’s time to become familiar with a flat iron and start straightening out your tresses. You an also give your hair a cute “makeover” by using hair accessories such as clips and pins to add a bit of “flair” to your brand new short hair.

When it’s Uneven
Before you grab your scissors, check with the salon to see if they do offer any sort of restyling period. Most salons offer a 48 to 72 hour “restyling” period where they will fix up your hair for free. Salons care about their reputation and want to be sure that you leave a happy customer.
If you feel embarrassed to call them back or do not trust the stylists one bit to fix up your hair, there’s a good chance that you’ll be able to fix it up yourself. Make sure you don’t just grab that old pair of sheers in the kitchen; you will want to either find a pair of very sharp scissors, or professional hair cutting sheers. Begin by trimming very small amounts of hair at a time, and then observe your hair in the mirror from at least 3 different angles. If your hair needs more evening out, trim a bit more and do the same.

5 Top Shaving Tips

5 Top Shaving Tips
There may be waxing, there may be sugaring, and there may be a number of different depilatory creams out there for women to use to remove hair, but no method is as popular as shaving. Shaving is by far the least expensive form of hair removal, and it can be finished in mere minutes.
The follies of shaving are the nicks that we experience, the skin irritation, and the dryness our skin may suffer. Here are some tips that can make your shaving experience a good one (and possibly keep your skin hair-free for longer!):
Tip #1: Wet your Skin
There’s nothing worse than trying to shave your legs (or any other area of the body) than trying to do so with dry skin. You want to make sure that your skin is wet. Having your skin moistened allows your hair to become softer, and it helps loosen up the dead skin cells that would otherwise clog up your razor.
TIP: Dead skin cells will not only clog up you razor, but it also increases your risk of suffering from nicks and cuts.
Tip #2: More Razor Blades doesn’t mean it’s Better
These days it seems that there is a new razor blade every year coming out, offering more blades and other small little “benefits” that they will try to make seem useful to you. We all got along just fine without having a vibrating razor, so that’s a feature you can skip. We also don’t really need any more than 1 or 2 razors on a blade. That’s right, you can skip the expensive 4 to 5 razor razorblades that are on store shelves and opt for the more basic models.
One feature that will make shaving easier and more pleasurable is to choose a razor that has a moisture or aloe strip. This strip not only hydrates the skin, but it makes shaving more smooth and will help prevent you from nicking your skin.
Tip #3: Shaving cream is Shaving cream
The “beauty” industry is a scheming market, coming up with products for things that we don’t really need. If you have walked the aisles of a drugstore, you may notice that oftentimes women’s shaving cream costs more than men’s. How do they justify it? Well, women’s shaving cream contains different formulas and moisturizers and it’s better for sensitive areas and…
This is all a joke. Even the most basic shaving cream that was on the shelves 20 years ago is more than suitable to help both men AND women prevent nicks and cuts. Men’s shaving cream is often less expensive and offers the same benefits. Choose one that is scent-free or has hardly any odor and you’re good as gold.
Tip #4: Shaving in All Directions
Though the hair on your legs will usually grow in only one direction, other areas of the body may have hair that grows in all different directions. One particular area that is shaven is the armpit, which has hair sprouting out at all different angles. Make sure you do a sort of “t” shape when you shave your armpits to ensure that you have cut all of the hair.
Tip #5: Always Hydrate your Skin
If you want those super smooth legs after a shave, always make sure that you apply a moisturizing product, such as a hydrating lotion or baby oil to your legs.

Why Choose To Remove Your Hair With Laser Treatments

Remove Your Hair With Laser Treatments Every woman on this earth has hair on her body that she wants to get rid of, and has to get rid of on a regular basis. So how do you remove your hair? Do you shave? Wax? Pluck? There are definitely benefits to choosing any one of these methods, such as:
  • You enjoy immediate results
  • It’s inexpensive per “treatment”
  • You can do it in the comfort of your own home
  • The treatment products are readily accessible and can be found at almost every store out there
But then there are some drawbacks to choosing these rather simple and basic ways to remove your hair, such as:
  • It’s not permanent – chances are you will have to go through the same process within days or weeks to remove the hair again
  • It can be rather painful
  • It can become expensive. When you think about how much money you have spent on razors, depilatory creams or wax throughout your life to this point, tally it up. Chances are that you are in the hundreds of dollars spent, or perhaps even thousands
Many women opt to not go for laser hair removal because it is expensive. While it is certainly more expensive per treatment than buying some razor blades or a hair sugaring kit, when you look at the cost throughout the entirety of your life, chances are that the laser treatments are actually far more cost effective than if you were to use any other hair removal process.

Think about the amount of time you will also be spending for the rest of your life on plucking, tweezing, shaving and waxing. Add that up, and it can end up being days and weeks spent simply on trying to get rid of unwanted hair! The laser treatment time varies on how large of an area you are having treated, but generally the treatment is completed within an hour or two. Now that’s far less time being spent on hair removal than if you were to use any other method!

Women also fear that the laser treatments can be painful, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. While it is true that some women feel a slight burning sensation when the treatment is taking place, the “pain” is by no means comparable to that you feel when you wax your hair, pluck an eyebrow, or nick your skin while shaving.

There are the horror stories that we have all heard about the lasers causing health issues, most commonly irreparable skin burns. This can and does occur, but these cases are few and far between. If you are thinking about going for laser hair removal, don’t make the price per treatment be the determining factor. Focus on the quality of the treatment provider. Ask them for references, and follow up on those references. Look for reviews online of the particular treatment provider and make sure that they are reputable and known for providing long lasting and beautiful results.

Six Steps To Perfect Eyebrows

Perfect Eyebrows Megan Fox
Perfect Eyebrows - Megan Fox

  1. Brush brows upward. Carefully trim any excess hair above the top of your natural arch. Be careful not to take off too much at the ends or you'll have brow "bald" spots.
  2. Look closely at the shape. Your brow should begin at your tear duct, peak at the outer edge of your iris and end at the outer corner of your eye. "Many women make the mistake of taking off too much at the outer corners," says Weston. "This slants the brows upward and makes the person look perpetually angry."
  3. Prep your skin: Soak a cotton ball in astringent and wipe the brow area.
  4. Hold a pencil in line with the outer side of your iris and note where the peak of your arch naturally occurs. From the arch to the outer corner of the eye, your brow should fall in a straight or slightly curved line, depending on the look you're trying to achieve.
  5. Hold the tweezers at a 45 degree angle and pluck the stray hairs below the brow line. "Pull in the direction of the hair growth, or you may end up breaking the hair mid-shaft," says Engle. Follow your natural brow shape, not the trends. "It's very difficult to let your brows grow back into their natural shape after you've plucked them to death trying to achieve a particular look," she says.
  6. Perfect Eyebrows Fill in sparse areas with a freshly sharpened brow pencil - be a bombshell; use light, quick strokes to draw in hair. Brow powder will give thin brows overall definition, and is great for a more natural look. Using the brow brush, sweep powder up and outward over brows. If you're a brow novice, a tinted brow gel is a foolproof way to keep brows in place. Lightly coat brows using upward and outward strokes. Wipe off any excess and allow it to set. Get Glowing!

Tweeze Your Brows

Which Tweezer?

Thin Tip: Good for grasping small, fine hairs, and plucking ingrown hair.
Slanted Tip: Gives maximum control.
Square Tip: Best used for removing coarse hairs or several hairs at a time.
  1. Tweeze immediately after showering or apply a hot washcloth to loosen hair follicles.
  2. Hold a pencil vertically along the side of the nose. Eyebrow should start at outside edge if pencil - Anastasia Soare eyebrow queen.
Hint: Leaving a bit more space will widen close-set eyes.
  3. Hold pencil to outside of eye. This is where the eyebrow of a bombshell should end.
  4. Smooth brows with a little moisturizer to help hairs slide out - turn back the clock.
  5. Brush brows up to find a natural arch.
  6. Draw in the desired shape beforehand with a soft eye shadow pencil - Keira Knightley smokey eyes.
Hint: Don't use an eyeliner pencil. It will cause you to pluck too much.
  7. Tweeze under the brow first, plucking in the direction of the growth.
Hint: If your plucking becomes too painful, apply a little anbesol (yes, that pain reliever for teeth also numbs the brows)
  8. Using an eyelash comb, comb brows upwards and trim any hairs that extend beyond the natural top or brow bone. Glamorous lashes.
  9. After tweezing, soothe the area with cool, wet tea bags.
