Best Self Tanners on the Market

Best Self Tanners on the Market

So many self tanners line the store shelves every year around summer time, which can make it rather difficult to choose just which self tanner to use!
We have all heard of those horror stories about a self tanner making one turn a horrible orange shade, and we’ve seen those women who have obviously used a “streaky” self tanner as they have tiger tanning stripes up and down their body.
Some things that you will want to be looking for in a quality self tanner include:
  • It should be fast drying so that you can get dressed in an appropriate amount of time (say within 5 to 10 minutes)
  • The color that you are left with should be a brown tone rather than orange
  • The tanner should not have a smell that is strong or repulsive
  • The tanner should not fade after the first shower
So what are the best self tanners out there? We’ll look at a few of the best from all different price points, from the super cheap to the super expensive.

The Super Cheap Best Self Tanner: Jergens Natural glow
This tanner is great for anyone who has pale skin and wants to build up darker skin over time. This is a very gentle and very gradual self tanner that won’t leave you with any unexpected results. This self tanner doesn’t streak, it doesn’t smell too badly (though some may have a problem with it) and the tanner is only $4 USD for a bottle!
The Cheap Best Self Tanner: L’Oreal’s Sublime Glow for the Body
This is another gradual self tanner that will allow you to build up a tan. This means that it isn’t streaky, and you can have noticeably more tanned skin in as little as 2 days! All you have to do is apply a thin layer of this self tanner after you exfoliate and cleanse your skin in the shower, and you are left with a shimmery glow. Though this tanner may be a bit runny to some, for $10 a bottle you’re definitely getting a good deal.

The Average Best Self Tanner: Clarins’ Liquid Bronze Self Tanner for the Face
Though you can use this all over the body, this product is particularly wonderful for the face. It isn’t streaky, it will leave you with a really even tan, and it will work on oily skin (something that is hard to find when it comes to a facial self tanner). The smell is also not a problem. This tanner goes for about $32 a bottle, but if you have ever had problems finding a self tanner for your face, this is definitely the self tanner to purchase.

The Expensive Best Self Tanner: Guerlain’s Terracotta Self Tanning Spray for the Body
The one drawback to this product is the price. At any where from $35 to $50 a bottle, this self tanner is by no means a cheap investment. This self tanner, when compared to all the others on the market, dries the fastest, is tone of the least smelly of the lot, and color you are left with is a rich and natural brown.
