Is Sally Hansen’s “Insta-Dri” Fast Dry Nail Polish Worth Your Money?

Is Sally Hansen’s “Insta-Dri” Fast Dry Nail Polish Worth Your Money?

One reason why a lot of women do not wear nail polish is because it chips and peels one day after they have a manicure. Another reason why women often opt to have naked, polish-free nails is because nail polish takes so darn long to dry! Is there anything worse than sitting at your kitchen table or in your washroom, waiting and waiting for your nails to dry before you can pick up the phone, head out the door, or even eat?

Thanks to the demand for having high-speed drying nail color, many companies have now tried to create formulas that they claim will speed up the drying process. Sally Hansen is one of these companies. Sally Hansen is reputable and has created a number of funky nail polish shades offered at a fraction of the cost of the higher end beauty stores. These nail polish shades are always a hit as though the nail polish may be cheaper in cost, it’s not cheaper in quality. But is the Insta-Dri product by Sally Hansen worth spending your cash on?

How the Insta-Dri Nail Polish Works
What really makes this nail polish different from other polishes isn’t so much the nail polish itself, but rather the broad, square-shaped brush that accompanies it. The nail polish is the right consistency to require only one coat to be applied, so using this nail polish with a square brush allows you to effortlessly sweep the nail polish right over your entire nail in one stroke.

What We Liked
One of the best things about the Sally Hansen is the wide range of colors that they offer. Currently there are well over 20 colors ranging from traditional to trendy to funky that are part of the “Insta-Dri” line. This means that almost anyone will be able to find a shade (or five) that they love in the Insta-Dri formula.
The square shaped brush is definitely something that’s worth talking about. It makes one wonder why all nail polishes aren’t accompanied with a square brush, as it really does make the application process that much easier.
There is also no question that these nail polishes do dry a whole lot faster than if you were to use a traditional formula of nail polish.

What We Didn’t Like
With the above being said, this nail polish promises to be dry in 60 seconds or less. Nuh-uh. Even with just one coat, your nail polish still feels a bit sticky and clearly has not fully adhered to your nail after 2-3 minutes have passed. If you are planning on using this nail polish, give your nails a good 5 to 10 minutes before considering touching anything. You may be able to get away with 5 minutes if you apply a very thin layer, but then the color wouldn’t look as brilliant and you would need to add on a second coat anyways.

You also have to consider the fact that you should apply a base coat and a top coat to protect your nails and to help keep the nail polish in place. This means that your manicure can still take you well over 20 minutes to complete. Though it’s a shorter time span than usual, don’t expect some quick drying miracle with Sally Hansen’s “Insta-Dri” Fast Drying nail polish.
